Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision in Birmingham
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope that by reading it, you will get a sense of how I work as a therapist and supervisor and who I am as a person.
It may be that you already know what brings you here and wish to focus on a particular issue in therapy. For some of the areas in which I can help please see About me page.
You may have already identified a pattern that is present in your relationships, or life as a whole, which you may wish to address. It may also be true that you experience something less clear, i.e. a sense of dissatisfaction with your life, lack of meaning or ‘something just does not feel right’.
If you can relate to any of the above or have other experiences you wish to explore then I may be able to help you.
I work in a very relational way which means I share my feelings or thoughts with you whenever appropriate rather than merely being a listener. I don’t analyse. I see therapy as a mutual journey, it is not about me doing the ‘fixing’ or you doing the talking.
Having witnessed many clients grow and change, I hold a lot of hope and belief in our capacity as humans to change.
I abide by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and Gestalt Psychotherapy and Training Institute (GPTI) Codes of Ethics (please see Links).
I attend monthly supervision and various professional trainings (see About me).
I have Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Who I am as a Gestalt Psychotherapist and a person
I live my life in the most fulfilling and rich way I can. This feels very fundamental to me and it is beneficial in my therapeutic work that I can offer the richness of my experiences to clients and supervisees.
I devote my free time to yoga, walking, being outdoors and travel as well as my spiritual practice.
What happens next
We will meet for an initial assessment session (50 minutes) so that I can get more of a sense of you and what you need from therapy. This is also a chance for you to see how I work and whether my style feels right for you. If we find that we are both interested in working together, we will arrange to meet for further sessions (either a fixed number of sessions or open-ended therapy). I also offer a free of charge twenty minute Zoom Intro session, which is also a mutual assessment.
If you would like to discuss your interest in psychotherapy / supervision or to make a first appointment, please contact me on 07736842385 or email me. There is more practical information including venue and fees on my Contact me page.
